Environmental Responsibility

Precision Coatings, Inc. believes that businesses are responsible for achieving good environmental practice and operating in a sustainable manner. We are therefore committed to reducing our environmental impact and continually improving our environmental performance and operating methods.

As part of our commitment we adhere to the following principles:

  • Comply with all federal, state, and local environmental regulations
  • Continuously train our employees on all applicable health, safety, and environmental compliance issues relevant to our operations
  • Look for opportunities to reduce our environmental impact

In following our environmental policy, Precision Coatings, Inc provides a safe and environmentally sound company for our employees, customers and suppliers.

Fundamental to our environmental responsibility is the philosophy to minimize our waste or byproducts and then reuse and/or recycle as much of it as possible. The well-known concepts of Reduce-Reuse-Recycle support our philosophy.

Reduce:

The amount of resources that we consume: To the best of our ability, control the amount of material that we deposit, limit the amount of water and chemicals that we use, and control the amount of energy that we consume.

Re-use:

We encourage re-usable packaging for ongoing production products and multiple use durable re-usable masking products to save resources and items from the landfill.

Recycle:

We maintain a general waste stream recycling program for office paper and plastic/metal containers. Additionally, PCI has a recycling program with its grit suppliers to recycle the blasting material used in our processes. This program significantly reduces the net amount sent to our landfills.

Reclaim:

Those things which are a by-product of our processes: Overspray dust, excess solid coating deposits, wire clippings, and turnings can be collected and reclaimed. Generally, thousands of pounds of reclaimed by-product per year is salvaged and kept out of landfills.
